Windwave Communications is Hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician Near Boardman, OR

The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs all basic and routine facility maintenance, construction, and repair tasks to ensure safety, sanitation, and mechanical functions for the facilities and grounds. The ideal candidate will possess basic construction skills, be capable of performing small jobs unassisted, be organized, and know how to effectively communicate with others while keeping a positive attitude. Must be able to exercise independent judgment as to work methods, tools, and equipment required. This position may be required to perform a variety of other duties assigned in addition to those listed below.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform all routine and general maintenance work to properly maintain facilities and grounds.
  • Assists with miscellaneous facilities projects as needed.
  • Obtains quotes from contractors for specialized or extensive work to be performed.
  • Evaluate maintenance requests, set priorities, and process work assignments.
  • Establish and maintain a reliable network of outside vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely support of the maintenance functions.
  • Ensures licenses or permits are obtained as necessary.
  • Completing assigned tasks while ensuring the quality and quantity of your work; always maintaining high standards.
  • Maintains routine records related to assigned activities.
  • Monitors and assists in maintaining inventory levels of building and grounds maintenance and custodial supplies; assists with ordering and receiving supplies.
  • Demonstrating a working knowledge of construction and safety measures.
  • Additional duties as needed and or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Company policies, procedures, products and services.
  • Possess a moderate understanding of general carpentry and construction.
  • Building maintenance and custodial practices and procedures including repairing, adjusting, and replacing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related parts; painting; cleaning; and basic carpentry.
  • Record keeping systems and methods.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, such as climbing ladders and stairs; walking, kneeling, standing, squatting, twisting, and bending for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
  • Ability to clean or prepare work areas to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Ability to load and unload building material, tools, and equipment.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years of related experience.
